Makinis Tofu Factory

An industrial site was transformed into a state-of-the-art facility featuring custom-installed international equipment, large-scale refrigeration systems, and employee-focused amenities.

BMDC provided planning and construction services for the build-out of this specialized tofu processing facility. The project required extensive coordination with international manufacturers to ensure the precision installation and performance of the processing equipment. The facility features large-scale refrigeration and ventilation systems to support cooking, seasoning, packaging, and storage operations. As an added employee benefit, an on-site daycare center was also incorporated into the design. Located in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood, the 40-foot-tall soybean storage bin has become a recognizable local landmark.
